It use FoI requests to public sector employers in Scotland on the composition of their workforce by age band. The data shows an ageing workforce with significant challenges for service deliver over the next ten years, when almost 40% of staff are likely to retire.
The briefing also outlines a range of measures employers and governments need to take to address this issue.
