Pay Update for Council Members

Dear Colleague
The council have advised us that they intend to impose the pay offer with the new rates being implemented in the November pay and the backdating (from the 1stApril) paid in the December pay. This isn’t entirely surprising given that council leaders voted to impose the pay offer despite the fact that over 80% of UNISON members voted to reject the offer in our recent consultative ballot.
We are however proceeding with our industrial action ballot which will cover all members. As this is a statutory industrial action ballot, ballot papers will be sent to you by post so important to keep an eye out for them arriving. I will let you know when I get further details of the ballot timeline.
