UNISON Inverclyde Statement regarding Motion to Council

Inverclyde UNISON branch recognise that the budget challenges facing the Council are not of their own choosing. UNISON and the other Trade Unions agree, that where possible, we should express a sense of common purpose with the Council.

In the months ahead UNISON will continue to challenge Council priorities and decisions and we expect that a consensus on budget outcomes is unlikely. However we believe that presenting this motion to the Council (which was carried at the full Council meeting on Thursday) was the correct way forward and demonstrates a willingness to work with the Council in these challenging times.
