Adverse Weather – UNISON Advice to Members

Colleagues

UNISON have told Inverclyde Council that they should be looking to close all non-essential services on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd March. Both Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire councils have effectively taken this decision. We are concerned for the safety of all staff and believe staff safety is being compromised. Our advice to members is not to report for work if you are in any doubt about whether you can travel safely.

The council have decided not to follow their own policy on adverse weather by allowing staff in schools paid time off on both these dates – with good reason it has to be said. UNISON will not accept other staff losing annual leave or flexi if they have been unable to report for work on either or both these dates.
