Local College Provision – Fighting For The Future

UNISON Inverclyde’s Albert Sorrie pictured with the discussion document.

Last month members of Unison and EIS at West College Greenock had a well attended meeting to discuss the depletion of courses and the migration of courses and students to Paisley.

There is a feeling that Management are trying to deplete the Greenock college to either go for a much smaller college or the closure of the Greenock campuses altogether.

The Trade Unions are taking these concerns back to the College Management, there are also questions being asked why there is so much resistance from Inverclyde Council planning to a new Campus at the East India Dock and Regent Street.

Mark Gillan, the Greenock EIS Depute Branch Secretary has put together a discussion document which highlights these concerns, click on the link below to read.
