Unison Inverclyde thanks Members for Providing Essential Services

Unison Inverclyde would like to once again thank our members working for Inverclyde Council, Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership, Quarriers, River Clyde Homes, Inverclyde Leisure and in the community and voluntary sector for continuing to provide the vital services which the public rely on during this difficult time.

A number of our members are working from home as well as members continuing to work in offices and in the community helping to continue providing essential services by telephone, through email and social media by updating information, dealing with crisis loan calls, as well as the coordination of home care services and staffing schools and early year hubs and much more.

We would like to pay tribute to those members who are still out working on the front line in our community providing vital care at home and residential services against a backdrop of increased demands in these difficult times. The key role of our local government and voluntary sector workers must not be forgotten. A lot of these staff are amongst the lowest paid however they are the most dedicated and resilient.

We also wish to pay tribute to our members in the residential care sector who are on the frontline caring for the most vunerable members of the community.

Updates on Covid – 19 and members rights at work can be found on the Branch website and Facebook and Twitter platforms.

Members who have any concerns or issues can continue to contact the Branch by telephone on 01475 715900 or by email to unison@inverclyde.gov.uk and we will continue to respond to requests for advice and assistance.
