Day of Industrial Action – 30th November
Picketing / Exemptions / Rallies
As we know the 30th November is not a holiday but a day of strike action involving millions of public sector workers across theUK. It is not only important for members to take strike action but also to support picket lines which are designed to discourage colleagues from undermining the day of action – and ultimately the campaign to protect pensions – by reporting for work.
Our Branch will be leading picket lines in the following locations:
- Municipal Buildings, Greenock
- Wallace Place, Greenock
- William Street, Greenock
- Cathcart House
- Dalrymple House
- Crown House
- Wellpark Centre
- Inverclyde Centre
- Waterfront Complex
- Business Store
- James Watt College– Finnart & North Ayrshire Campuses
- West Stewart Street, Greenock
We will also be picketing with colleagues from EIS, GMB, UNITE, UCATT & Unison NHS at:
- Ravenscraig Hospital
- Hillend Centre
- Ingleston
- Pottery Street
- East Hamilton Street
- Parklea
- ClydeviewAcademy
- NotreDame Academy
- All Saints Primary
- Aileymill Primary
- GreenockHealth Centre
- Port Glasgow Health Centre
- IRH
All members are encouraged to join our picket lines which will be setting up early on.
Exemptions
- Unison has agreed to grant exemptions for members who are:
- Pregnant
- Due to retire within 12 months of the day of action and have an agreed retiral date
- Providing Life & Limb cover as part of an agreed list of exemptions
Any member falling into the above categories should contact the Branch office on 01475 715900 or Robin Taggart at robin.taggart@inverclyde.gov.uk to receive an exemption sticker which you should wear when coming to work on the day of action. Members who are exempt can make a donation to Unison’s welfare fund, and should contact the Branch office for more information.
