PAY BALLOT ANNOUNCEMENT

The UNISON consultation ballot on pay closed last Thursday with 59.7% of members voting to reject the pay offer and 40.3% voting to accept. The return was 25.4%. UNITE members also voted to reject the offer by 70/30 however GMB members voted to accept the offer by 79/21.

The Scottish Local Government conference agreed on Friday to proceed with a further ballot for Industrial action. It was also agreed to re-engage with the Employers side to see if they are willing to review their offer.
